ALMA TALENT’S STATUTORY PERSONNEL NEGOTIATIONS HAVE CONCLUDED: THE PUBLICATION OF MARKKINOINTI & MAINONTA, METALLITEKNIIKKA AND TEKNIIKAN HISTORIA MAGAZINES WILL END AT THE TURN OF THE YEAR

The statutory personnel negotiations initiated by Alma Talent on 28 September regarding efficiency improvements and the restructuring of the production and media sales of the publications Metallitekniikka, Tekniikan Historia and Markkinointi & Mainonta have concluded. The negotiations involved 15 people and led to reductions corresponding to six (6) person-years in editorial offices and media sales. The reductions will be achieved by resignation agreements. New roles were found for nine people through replacement or changes in job description.

As a result of the negotiations, Alma Talent decided to end the publication of Metallitekniikka, Tekniikan Historia and Markkinointi & Mainonta, and the last issues of the magazines will be published by 31 December 2020.

Alma Talent will focus even more on the paid digital media business.

“Marketing and advertising are very important sectors, and we will strengthen our monitoring and analysis of these sectors in Kauppalehti. Similarly, the reporting of topics related to metal technology and the history of technology will continue in the Tekniikka & Talous publication in both print and digital. With our reorganisation, we can further strengthen reporting digital financial news in all of Alma Talent’s media brands,” says Arno Ahosniemi, Senior Editor-in-Chief responsible for Alma Talent’s editorial offices.

The Metallitekniikka and Tekniikan historia magazines have each had a circulation of approximately 6,000. The print volume of Markkinointi & Mainonta has been 3,500 and its monthly digital audience has been approximately 190,000.
