HANNA PIHLAJAMÄKI APPOINTED AS THE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF OF TYRVÄÄN SANOMAT
Hanna Pihlajamäki, 37, has been appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of the local paper Tyrvään Sanomat that is published twice a week in the municipality of Sastamala and in Lavia that is now part of the city of Pori. Pihlajamäki starts her post on 1 June 2015. At the moment, she is a journalist at the joint editorial office of the papers Sydän-Satakunta, Jokilaakso and Satakunnan Kansa located in Kokemäki.
“I am very excited to start this new job. I’m already very familiar with the area and I hope that the people of the area will be actively in touch with us. Tyrvään Sanomat is a traditional and good newspaper. We plan to keep this up and also take advantage of new digital technology as much as possible and in as many ways as possible. One of our goals is also to build a sense of community in this area”, says Hanna Pihlajamäki.
This spring, the Editor-in-Chief’s tasks were handled in Tyrvään Sanomat by Timo Simula, the Editor-in-Chief of Sydän-Satakunta and Jokilaakso who will continue as the Editor-in-Chief of these newpapers.
The local newspaper Tyrvään Sanomat belongs to the Alma Regional Media product family which, in addition to Tyrvään Sanomat, includes four regional seven-day newspapers, 13 local subscription papers and nine town papers in different parts of Finland.
