Tunto, a new service from Alma Media, increases transparency in working life and makes peer reviews of employers accessible to everyone
Alma Media Corporation Press release 12 March 2019
TUNTO, A NEW SERVICE FROM ALMA MEDIA, INCREASES TRANSPARENCY IN WORKING LIFE AND MAKES PEER REVIEWS OF EMPLOYERS ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE
Tunto, an online service radaring the employer image enables users to advocate and share experiences of the employers they have worked for during their career. Tunto is Finland’s first digital comparison service for employer evaluation. In the past, experiences and perceptions of potential employers have been based on applicants’ personal networks and discussions on social media.
The service aims to increase transparency in working life and promote positive change by making it easier for employees to find employers who match their skills as well as their values. For employers, the service presents an opportunity to recruit employees who are a good fit with the company culture.
“In the future, expectations towards companies will change and transparency will be essential for products, services and the way employers operate. Employee expectations need to be met, and both facts and subjective perceptions now spread faster and more widely than ever before. At the same time, consumers are becoming more aware and they expect transparency from businesses. All of these factors affect the degree to which a company is perceived to be an attractive employer,” says Sanna Koivuranta, an expert on employer branding and the Business Owner of the Tunto service.
Reviews can be submitted on Tunto by current and former employees as well as users who are otherwise familiar with the featured companies. The service requires registration, but the ratings and comments submitted by users are processed and published anonymously. In order to establish a comprehensive profile, Tunto complements the user reviews with the employers’ financial information retrieved from Alma Talent’s business information service. In the launch phase, the service presents all Finnish companies with more than 20 employees according to data entered in the business information service. The service includes information on the featured companies’ key financial figures, the number of employees and the industry they operate in. Peer reviews have already been posted on 60 Finnish companies.
Tunto online service is part of Alma Media’s recruitment services and Alma Markets business segment. Alma Markets operates a similar online service in the Czech Republic called Atmoskop.cz.
