Altor Fund V (“Altor”) has signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Raw Fury AB (“Raw Fury”) and enter into a partnership with the owners and management.

Raw Fury was founded in 2015 by Jónas Antonsson and is a Swedish game publisher focusing on artsy, story-rich PC & console games in the ‘indie’ niche. They have published 24 games, with several more scheduled for release in 2021. The games are developed by smaller independent developers, located worldwide. Despite being a young company, Raw Fury with its 60 employees is seen as a top indie publisher globally.

“We are grateful for our previous partner Nordisk Film’s unwavering belief and support in strengthening who we are and what we represent today,” says Jónas Antonsson, CEO of Raw Fury. “Now we are ready for the next step in our growth journey with Altor. They are an amazing partner believing in our vision, quirkiness and aim and with capabilities that will enable major organic and inorganic growth areas. We will keep being a force for the good in this industry, not the least keep putting artistic integrity at the forefront.”

“Indie publishers are well positioned in a really exciting market” says Mattias Holmström, Partner at Altor. “Raw Fury has a great brand driven by their artsy niche and strong culture. We are highly committed to supporting Raw Fury in realizing an ambitious growth plan going forward; the journey has truly only begun.”

“Raw Fury is well underway to become a gaming powerhouse”, says Mattias Miksche, incoming Chairman of Raw Fury. “I am excited about the opportunity to continue to work alongside Altor and look forward to working with the exceptional people at Raw Fury.”
