Ambea AB (publ) announces that Truls Navestad, Business Area Head of Heimta, is leaving the company

After almost three years, Truls Navestad is set to leave the position as Business Area Head of Heimta, Ambea’s Norwegian operations. He took office in 2016, shortly after Ambea established itself in Norway through the acquisition of six disable care companies in the country.

At that time, Truls was the CEO of the acquired company Heimta AS, which he founded in 2008. The name Heimta has lived on within the Ambea Group since the acquisition as the brand for the group’s operations in Norway. Truls Navestad now announces his intention to terminate his employment to the management at Ambea.

Fredrik Gren, Group CEO at Ambea, comments the announcement:

“When Ambea established itself in Norway almost three years ago, we knew that Truls was an important piece in the puzzle of successfully integrating our Norwegian operations and in driving it forward. His extensive knowledge of and commitment within disable care is invaluable. He has done a fantastic job of developing both Heimta’s operations and brand, while also establishing Ambea as a strong player in the Norwegian market.”

Ambea has recently entered into an agreement to acquire the care operations of Aleris (“Aleris Care”), who is currently the market leader in the private care sector in Norway.

Truls Navestad is set to leave Ambea before the summer of 2019, but he will be part of the process of integrating Aleris Care, provided that the transaction is approved by the relevant competition authority.*

“I am very grateful for having been involved in building Ambea’s operations in Norway. It has been incredibly educational and together we have successfully built a steady and progressive business with a user focused approach. Now we are set to grow even more and it feels completely right to end the journey at this time in order to let others carry on”, says Truls Navestad and continues.

“Now I also get the opportunity to prioritize my family. It has been demanding to combine hard work with the life as a parent of young children. Provided that the competition authorities approve the acquisition of Aleris Care, it feels very reassuring that so many at both Ambea and Aleris Care have the experience of running operations at a larger scale”, says Truls Navestad.

“Ambea is in a very exciting phase, where we will soon grow considerably in Norway as a result of the acquisition of Aleris’ care operations. I had hoped that Truls would want to continue this journey, but at the same time I fully understand that he chooses to prioritize his family. I wish him the best of luck in the future and I hope that we will have the opportunity to work together again in the future”, says Fredrik Gren.

*The transaction is subject to regulatory approval by the relevant competition authorities and closing is expected to occur during the first quarter of 2019, however no later than in the second quarter of 2019.
