Ambea acquires Norwegian company TBO Helse

Ambea is continuing its expansion in Norway with the acquisition of Norwegian care company TBO Helse AS on 31 December.

“TBO Helse provides specialist services within the disability sector, and we are very happy to be incorporating this leading care company in Ambea’s growing Norwegian division. The acquisition of TBO Helse is another important component in Ambea’s expansion into disability services in Norway,” said Ambea CEO Fredrik Gren.

“Ambea will be ideal owners for TBO Helse, which can offer good opportunities for cooperation with Heimta and Vitale, our other Norwegian acquisitions completed in 2016. TBO will also be able to benefit from Ambea’s investments in quality management systems, care innovations and training,” he added.

TBO Helse is an established supplier of care specialising in mental health disabilities, autism, Asperger’s, Down’s Syndrome, Tourette Syndrome, foetal alcohol syndrome, dementia, PTSD, ADHD, dual diagnosis, and challenging and disruptive behaviour. TBO offers 24-hour care accommodation, respite care, acute placement, surveys/investigations, habilitation/rehabilitation, probation and closed forensic psychiatric care.

TBO was founded in autumn 2010. Most of its operations are located in Troms Fylke in northern Norway as well as in Bergen. The company has around 85 co-workers and has enjoyed steady growth with good margins. Turnover in 2016 was approximately NOK 50 million.
