Following approval by the Swedish Competition Authority (Konkurrensverket) of Ambea's subsidiary Nytida’s intention to acquire Solhagagruppen, the deal has now been sealed and integration between the two companies has begun.

“The merger of Nytida and Solhagagruppen creates clear quality leadership. Nytida has a wealth of experience and expertise in the fields of disability, substance abuse, psychiatry and the care of individuals and families. Solhagagruppen has a clear focus and specialisation in neuropsychiatric and psychiatric disabilities as well as developmental disorders. Together we will possess a unique breadth of skills that will benefit the development of disability care,” says Fredrik Gren, CEO of Ambea, which is Nytida’s parent company.

The merger means that Nytida has a new organisational structure, with several managers and co-workers from Solhagagruppen coming in as key members of staff. The new Head of Division for Nytida is Patrik Attemark, currently CEO of Solhagagruppen.

“Nytida and Solhagagruppen share a vision and values. We have, quite simply, the same view on how the business should develop and we think the same way on issues such as quality and strategic planning. We always put our users/clients at the centre, and we make safe, long-term working partners for municipalities and the most attractive employers for those who want to work within care services,” says Patrik Attemark.

Nytida’s current Head of Division, Agneta Lindgren, is taking on the new role of developing the Norwegian market where Solhagagruppen is already present and Ambea aims to grow. Agneta will also be the Chair of a planned Advisory Board for training, which will be created in the spring.

“Together we can accelerate our development work and thereby offer quality care and support to more people with disabilities. Nytida and Solhagagruppen have both made major investments in innovation and training, as well as opening new residential environments for disabled people over the last few years. Demand for placement is high. The merger creates the right conditions for us to be able to offer quality care to more people who are in need of support,” adds Fredrik Gren.
