    Another New Construction Project Under ABS Class in Poland (GDANSK, Poland) An offshore support vessel (OSV) dedicated to serving offshore Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, for DOF, will be built to ABS Class in Poland.     ABS Approves OO-STAR Floating Wind Foundation Design

    (HAMBURG) The OO-STAR floater, designed to support the largest wind turbines in the world in the harshest offshore environments, has received approval in principle (AIP) from ABS. The concrete semi-submersible floating wind foundation from CBNA, a subsidiary of Bouygues Construction, is designed according to a database of wind and metocean patterns both for a test site in the North Sea and to accommodate a turbine of over 20 MW. ABS completed design reviews based on class and statutory requirements using the ABS Guide for Building and Classing Floating Offshore Wind Turbines.

    Expansion of Hybrid Battery Conversion for ABS-Classed SEACOR Marine PSVs

    Over Half of SEACOR Marine’s PSV Fleet will be Hybrid The ABS-classed SEACOR Yangtze is now the tenth vessel in the SEACOR Marine Holdings Inc. (SEACOR Marine) fleet with hybrid battery power. ABS provided survey and engineering review services for the integration of a lithium-ion based energy storage system into the SEACOR Yangtze platform support vessel (PSV).
