AMA FOUNDATION AWARDS OUTSTANDING YOUNG RESEARCHERS

CHICAGO — The American Medical Association (AMA) Foundation awarded grants to 28 junior investigators. The Seed Grant Research Program provides medical students, residents, and fellows with grants of up to $2,500 for basic science or clinical research projects. The recipients are conducting research in the fields of cardiovascular/pulmonary diseases, HIV/AIDS, and pancreatic cancer.

“Through this program, the AMA Foundation supports the next generation of researchers who will be at the forefront of innovations in medicine,” said AMA Foundation President Clarence Chou, MD. “Seed grant recipients represent America’s future medical researchers, teaching faculty, and scientists.”

The 2013 recipients are—
