AMA HONORS ADAM JABLONOWSKI WITH MEDICAL EXECUTIVE LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Wayne County, MI, medical society executive served medical profession throughout career

NEW ORLEANS - The American Medical Association (AMA) today presented Adam Jablonowski with the Medical Executive Lifetime Achievement Award in honor of his contributions to the medical profession. Mr. Jablonowski is retiring after 15 years of serving as the executive director of the Wayne County Medical Society of Southeast Michigan (WCMSSM). He previously served for seven years as the associate executive director of the Medical Association of Georgia. The award was presented at the AMA's semi-annual policy-making meeting in New Orleans.

“The AMA is pleased to honor Mr. Jablonowski’s dedication to the medical profession and improving health care in his communities,” said AMA Chair Robert Wah, M.D. “His contributions have made an important difference for physicians and patients in Georgia and Michigan.”

During his career with the WCMSSM, Mr. Jablonowski enhanced community and advocacy roles for physicians in the Greater Detroit Area Health Coalition, the Southeast Michigan Health Information Exchange and the Detroit Wayne County Health Authority. During his time with the Medical Association of Georgia, Mr. Jablonowski developed continuing medical education programs and focused on improving rural health care.

Prior to his tenure with medical associations, Mr. Jablonowski served as a health policy analyst for a member of Congress and worked on public health improvements as a member of the Peace Corps. He also served in the U.S. Army as a health benefits analyst with the Office of Civilian Health and Medical Programs of the Uniformed Services.
