Laser Conference Considers Global Dermatology Perspective

March 24, 2013, Wausau, WI – Laser 2013 will include an International Experience in Lasers in Dermatology Session, Saturday, April 6, as part of the 33rd Annual Conference of the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery, Inc. (ASLMS), April 3-7, 2013, Boston, MA.

The session is directed toward sharing international expertise in lasers in the field of cutaneous conditions from people around the world. Attendees will develop an understanding of the present treatment indications, therapeutic techniques, and new and innovative technologies. Different approaches on different types of skin will be shown.

The session is directed by Henry H.L. Chan, M.B.B.S., Ph.D., F.R.C.P. and Christine C. Dierickx, M.D. Dr. Chan is a private dermatologist. He is also currently the honorary clinical professor, department of medicine, The University of Hong Kong and the visiting scientist of the Wellman Center for Photomedicine, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA.

Dr. Dierickx resides in Belgium where she is in private practice and continues to be involved in the development of new laser applications as well as new applications for photodynamic therapy.

Topics of most interest include pigmentary disorders, treatment of vascular lesions, fractional technologies, home devices, laser treatment among skin of color, and lipolysis.

Physicians and other health care personnel in the disciplines of dermatology, plastic surgery, and facial plastic surgery are encouraged to attend. Engineers and medical device personnel may also benefit from attending.

Conference registration is $490 for members or applicants, $525 for active members of the U.S. military and $750 for non-members. Students and residents are admitted free of charge.
