The American Society of Laser Medicine & Surgery, Inc. (ASLMS) will again host a Laser Aesthetics Course, November 14-15, 2015 at the Beckman Laser Institute in Irvine, California.

This popular course is designed for physicians, clinicians, scientists, and individuals in industry who currently use, or are investigating use of, lasers and related energy-based devices in their practice. The 1-1/2 day weekend course is beneficial for anyone who wishes to have a deeper understanding of how lasers work and then apply that knowledge to achieve optimum clinical outcomes.

Dr. Emil A. Tanghetti, a faculty member, feel the course is good for any level of knowledge because it provides basic to advanced information all in one setting. “None of us knows it all. Sometimes even the basic concepts deserve a review.”

Participants will be introduced to a cross-section of lasers and other light-based energy technologies and their most appropriate aesthetic applications. The course covers treatment of a variety of aesthetic procedures including; hair removal, vascular lesions, skin tightening, skin rejuvenation, acne scars, port wine stains, irregular pigmentations, nevi, melasma, tattoos and the interactions and complimentary use of light based technology with muscle relaxers and fillers. In addition to procedures, the course includes best practice patient selection criteria, patient safety procedures, and patient relationship building practices which result in improved patient outcomes.

The distinguished course faculty, led by J. Stuart Nelson, MD, PhD, course director, include Emil A. Tanghetti, MD; E. Victor Ross, MD; and Gerald N. Goldberg, MD.

Course registration is $950 for ASLMS members or applicants, $1,250 for non-members, and $200 for students and residents (only five student/resident/fellow seats are available).
