Cleveland Clinic nurse receives 2015 ASTRO Annual Meeting Nurses Abstract Award
The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) has awarded the 2015 Annual Meeting Nurses Abstract Award to Bridgett Harr, CPN, Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, for the abstract “Advanced Practice Nurse Follow-up Clinic Reduces Emergency Room Visits and Admissions in High-Risk Patients after Chemoradiation Therapy for Head and Neck Cancer.”
The Annual Meeting Nurses Abstract Award honors the highest rated abstract with a nursing designation. Award candidates must be nurses who are the lead author or co-author of an abstract selected for presentation at the 2015 ASTRO Annual Meeting. Ms. Harr will receive a $1,000 award, along with a certificate and complimentary Annual Meeting registration, at ASTRO’s 57th Annual Meeting, October 18-21, at the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio.
“Ms. Harr’s abstract exemplifies the best in the nursing abstracts submitted this year for ASTRO’s Annual Meeting,” said ASTRO President Bruce D. Minsky, MD, FASTRO. “Every year we select an abstract that highlights research showing how nursing can benefit patient care.”
Her abstract will be presented as a poster at the Annual Meeting in the Henry B. González Convention Center.
Ms. Harr’s abstract will also be featured as part of ASTRO’s Annual Meeting Press Program onsite in San Antonio on Monday, October 19, 2015, 10:30 a.m., and online in the virtual Annual Meeting Press Room.
