AMETEK Solidstate Controls Hosts Open House at Newly Renovated Houston Training Facility
HOUSTON – AMETEK Solidstate Controls, Inc. (SCI), a leader in highly customized uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), hosted an open house at its newly renovated training facility in Houston last week. The highlight of the event featured a three-hour training course that covered the theory and operation of industrial power/power conditioning equipment. Don Imlay, Manager of Training and Support for SCI, provided hands-on demonstrations with SCI’s Digital ProcessPower (DPP) UPS and Digitally Controlled Ferroresonant (DSE) UPS system to 18 training course participants.
Tours of the cutting-edge, 10,000 square foot facility were given, exhibiting upgraded labs where a 400 amp service was added to emulate a real-world testing environment, as well as two newly renovated classrooms that hold up to 25 students each. Innovative new products from SCI were on display for the tours, including SCI’s digitally controlled, electronic tap changer (DVS), the industry’s first Digitally Controlled Ferroresonant (DSE) UPS system, and the Powervar 3200, a light, industrial-grade UPS.
"AMETEK Solidstate Controls offers a distinctively progressive, year-round training program that includes hands-on demonstrations of our products and provides a superior added value to our customers," comments John Ely, Marketing Director for SCI. "We are pleased to have a state-of-the-art facility where practical testing and application of our products can be conducted."
Following the training activities, SCI representatives from its application engineering, R&D, marketing and sales departments were on hand to meet with attendees and answer questions.
