GRAND JUNCTION, CO – AMETEK Vehicular Instrumentation Systems (VIS), which is headquartered and has manufacturing operations on 27 Road in Grand Junction, has made a donation of $7000 to the REACH program, which serves homeless youth and their families in the Mesa County School District. Over the past five years, AMETEK has contributed nearly $30,000 to REACH through donations and matching grants from the AMETEK Foundation, which serves as the charitable arm of AMETEK, Inc.

“AMETEK is pleased to continue its support of REACH and its vitally important efforts assisting homeless youth in our community,” comments Neil Desmond, AMETEK Vice President and General Manager for Instrumentation and Specialty Controls.  “AMETEK has a long, well-established record of support for programs, such as REACH, that are designed to meet the civic and social needs of the communities in which we operate.”

“AMETEK’s support allows REACH-assisted students feel a sense of normalcy; to be like their peers. These funds provide us with the opportunity to help these students pursue their interests, participate in social activities, and make lasting relationships with their peers. In essence, they get to be kids,” notes Cathy Ebel, Prevention Services Coordinator for REACH.
