HORSHAM, PA—The Model IDT Intrinsically Safe Pressure Transmitter from AMETEK PMT Products is specifically designed for use in hazardous areas for pressure measurement applications that require a rugged, compact design. The intrinsically safe approvals for the IDT include FM US, FM Canada (cFMus), ATEX and IECEx.

The Model IDT transmitter offers premium performance and versatility for applications that include upstream oil and gas and industrial as well as original equipment end uses. Its 0.2% typical accuracy is superior to competitive models and allows the transmitter it to be used on critical applications.

The transmitter’s design incorporates a stainless-steel isolation diaphragm and 316 stainless-steel construction that resist the corrosive effects of caustic media or wash downs and that make it compatible with a variety of media. Monel versions and Hastelloy diaphragms for hydrogen sulfide applications are available.

The Model IDT is offered in pressure ranges from full vacuum to 5000 psig, including very low pressure 0-1 psi, 0-3 psi and 0-6 psi versions, and 15 psia through 300 psia.  The transducer accepts both regulated and unregulated excitation voltages and provides output signals such as 1-5 VDC, 1-6 VDC, 0-5 VDC, 0.5 to 4.5 VDC and 4-20mA.

The Model IDT is compatible with numerous electrical outputs and connections. Its design permits quick hook-up and use with standard process equipment, conventional receivers and microprocessors. The transmitter features transient/burst/surge protection (EN6326-1) with secondary protection available with Model LMA 912.

Low power voltage output allows the transmitter to be used for solar or battery operation and ensures longer life. It features reverse polarity protection, which helps ensure safe installation and prevents damage from reverse wiring of the transmitter.
