New, Powerful Polarimeters from Reichert Technologies Measure Optically Active Substances, Accurately, Quickly, Easily
BUFFALO, N.Y. – Reichert Technologies, which has created advanced optical and analytical instruments for more than 150 years, continues today to pursue the highest level of accuracy and quality with the addition of three new Polarimeters to its line of analytical instruments: the Polar1 and the Polar3 and later this year the Polar2. These new laboratory instruments are designed for analyzing optically active substances and are precise and accurate even at high optical rotations. The new Polarimeters are easy to use and are suited for quality control, process control, and research in many industries including food and beverage, cosmetic, essential oils, and pharmaceutical.
Backed by Reichert’s well-established reputation for leadership and innovation in the analytical instruments industry, the Polarimeters offer exceptionally precise high-quality measurements for every application and every budget. Polar1 is the entry-level model with 0.010 /0.030Z accuracy and a 589mm fixed wavelength. Polar3 is precise to 0.0050/0.0150Z and includes one fixed wavelength with others available on request. Polar2 is optimized specifically for pharmaceutical applications and other high-value samples.
Part of a modular system, the Polar2 and Polar3 can easily connect to Reichert’s other new analytical instruments through the Universal Display, a 7” color touchscreen.
Polarimeter Operating System Is Designed with the User in Mind
An intuitive touchscreen navigation on the Universal Display saves time by easily allowing the user to program settings and change methods. Through the Universal Display, the Reichert Polar2 and the Polar3 operating systems (OS) are able to connect to Reichert’s other new instruments (AR Series refractometers, AR9 and AR5, and density meters, Density5 and Density4) creating powerful analytical systems that simultaneously measure refractive index, density, and optical rotation. The OS allows all of the instruments to become part of the workflow, communicating with LIMS systems and other laboratory instruments via USB or RS232. The system software operates up to 7 customer-specific methods in the Polar1 and up to 1000 in the Polar 2 and Polar3 and by adding the optional GxP software package, the system provides full compliance with 21 CFR Part 11, meeting all security electronic records requirements for the pharmaceutical industry.
