ORTEC® Introduces ICS® P4 Integrated Cryocooling System for HPGE, PopTop® Detectors

Oak Ridge, TN — The ORTEC Products Group of AMETEK®Advanced Measurement Technology has released the ICS-P4, adding a new model to its highly successful Integrated Cryocooling System (ICS) product line. The ICS-P4 extends liquid nitrogen (LN2)-free cooling to PopTop® High-Purity Germanium (HPGe) detectors, while simultaneously delivering premium detector resolution and high reliability.
ICS-P4 is fully compatible with ORTEC PopTop detectors and can be used with new or existing detectors. ICS-P4 incorporates a field-proven AMETEK SunPower®Stirling cooler and, like all ICS models, employs AVC™ (Active Vibration Cancellation) that virtually eliminates vibrational and audible noise for superior detector resolution.
ICS-P4 offers an easy, on-site upgrade for ORTEC PopTop, HPGe detectors. This allows customers with existing detectors to take full advantage of next-generation, electro-mechanical cryocooling technology, superior detector resolution, high reliability and the elimination of LN2 hazards and costs.
