REYNOSA, MX – AMETEK’s Reynosa Service Center is preparing to celebrate its 10thanniversary as an FAA Certified Foreign Repair Station.  Located immediately across the border from McAllen, TX, the Reynosa Service Center along with its highly trained engineers and mechanics provides repair services for aircraft and engine sensors, such as thermocouples, fuel flowmeters, level sensors, and air data system components and associated cables and harnesses.

The Reynosa Service Center was awarded FAA Certification as a Foreign Repair Shop on June 22, 2007 and is one of only a handful of repair stations authorized to repair aircraft parts in Mexico by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).  There are currently 33 such FAA Certified Repair Stations operating in Mexico today, and the Reynosa Service Center was the 17thshop certified.

The Reynosa Service Center initially began repairing thermocouples as a sub-tier supplier. The Center has since expanded to offer full sensor overhaul, test, and repair capabilities for AMETEK Aerospace OEM parts and products as well as select third-party repairs, in which its engineering skills and technical know-how result in a level of service that is equal to, or even better than, those offered by the equipment’s original manufacturer.

“We continually strive to broaden our capabilities and conduct intensive training and cross-training for our team to ensure that we meet the highest customer expectations in terms of service and performance,” comments Javier Valenzuela, AMETEK’s Reynosa Service Center Manager.

As a Foreign Repair Station, the Reynosa Service Center must meet additional safety criteria beyond that required of Domestic Repair Stations, such as annual recertification by the FAA vs Domestic Repair Stations whose certification lasts indefinitely. This requires frequent and close communication with the FAA to ensure that reliable and compliant repairs are provided by the shop.  In addition to FAA Certification, the Reynosa Service Center has been certified by the DGAC, EASA, CAAC and CAAS certifying agencies.
