Amuse Presents Direct Integration with YouTube for Official Artist Channels

Report this content

Managing music and artist content across YouTube can be challenging and tedious. To help DIY and independent artists gain control of their presence on the platform, global music company and distributor Amuse presents an automated integration with YouTube for Official Artist Channel (OAC) access. Eligible Amuse distribution users can now request their OAC with just a few clicks, merging all subscribers and content from different parts of YouTube into one convenient channel.

The integration is the latest result of Amuse’s continued ambition to solve pain points for the DIY and independent artist community. Even though YouTube is considered one of the most important platforms on which to build an artist career, most DIY distributors make requesting an Official Artist Channel a cumbersome case-by-case process - if they offer it at all.

Now being rolled out to all artists on Amuse’s Boost and Pro tiers, the YouTube OAC integration will show as an option within an artist's profile on the web app. It then automatically checks that the artist’s channel meets YouTube’s criteria (such as that the channel has existing videos and at least one release through Amuse). When confirmed, the integration generates a request to YouTube’s systems, for them to formally approve as the final step. This new integration promises to make the process of getting an OAC much smoother and faster.

"The DIY artist life is often characterized by a lot of time spent on admin, time that they would probably rather put into making music. YouTube is an essential forum for artists to connect with their fans, and the ability to merge all of their content into one Official Artist Channel not only streamlines that but also gives the artist access to a great set of tools that helps facilitate the development of their career," says Erik Ljungqvist, Chief Product Officer at Amuse.

  • Official Artist Channel: One new channel for all music and video, merging subscribers from topic channels, Vevo channels and their own existing channel.
  • Analytics for Artists: fan demographics and deeper understanding of YouTube music performance.
  • Merch connection: Artists can connect a store (like Shopify) to their OAC and promote their own products.
  • Ticketing connection: Artists can promote tickets for upcoming live gigs through their OAC.
  • Accreditation: Official Artist Channel Verification Mark
