Brussels Airlines Chooses Anaplan for Heightened Financial Planning and Analysis
Anaplan’s flexible, in-memory platform selected to replace legacy spreadsheet system
Brussels Airlines, the Belgian airline offering the widest choice of flights to and from its base at Brussels Airport, has selected Anaplan to boost its financial planning and analysis (FP&A) strategy. Brussels Airlines, which experienced record passenger growth in April 2014, selected Anaplan over legacy software vendors to replace its spreadsheet-based FP&A processes.
With Anaplan’s cloud-based, in-memory platform Brussels Airlines can get insights on product planning and allocation, cost planning, and capital expenditures. The airline will leverage Anaplan to determine passenger revenue allocation to flight numbers in real-time. The Belgian company can also more accurately forecast future demand, and adjust plans on the fly to account for personnel costs and functional costs.
“Our business users are very enthusiastic about using Anaplan, as it is the only platform capable of handling the operational parameters and operational data used in our planning processes,” said Vanessa Rentiers, Vice President of Controlling and Business Intelligence, Brussels Airlines. “As a modern company, we must be able to act quickly, which means we need flexible tools that are natural to use throughout the organization. Anaplan will play an important role in our concerted effort to improve financial and operating results stemming from our performance improvement plan.”
Anaplan’s cloud-based platform is built on the patented, in-memory HyperBlock™ data engine delivering unparalleled immediacy, flexibility and scale. Anaplan unifies data from across the organization in a secure cloud/SaaS platform and interconnects plans to deliver unprecedented trust and visibility into the planning process.
“With Anaplan, Brussels Airlines will never have to deal with miscellaneous spreadsheets, disparate databases, or unwieldy planning systems again,” said Anaplan CEO Fred Laluyaux. “Brussels Airlines can be confident that their data and plans are telling a consistent story, results are mapping to projections and business decisions are backed by accurate test scenarios.”
