ÅF Group to continue development of Ericsson's radio base station RBS 200 and take over operational management The ÅF Group has gained a major commission to continue the work of developing, and assume the responsibility for managing one of Ericsson Radio System's GSM radio base stations, RBS200. This assignment necessitates the establishment of a new, dedicated development and operational management environment at the ÅF Group's research and development centre in Kista, on the outskirts of Stockholm. The transfer of the product will take place in stages. The first stage has already been completed with the handover of part of the product software to the ÅF Group. The hardware is scheduled for transfer at the end of the year and the remaining software, digital hardware, verification and testing will be transferred by the end of February 2001 at the latest. The assignment will run for 10 years from the date the agreement was signed, and may, in future, be extended to include other products from Ericsson Radio System's sphere of operations.
