Swedes highly satisfied with IT services

Swedes highly satisfied with IT services 74 percent of the people in Sweden over 15 years of age use mobile phones, and 59 percent use the Internet at home and/or at work. The majority of Internet users are to be found in the large cities, but only 17 percent of the Swedish population is totally without access to modern IT services. All of this information is contained in a new report from Sifo Research & Consulting AB commissioned by the Swedish consulting company, the ÅF Group. Female users of IT services are slightly underrepresented in comparison with men, but the differences are small. For example, 77 percent of men have a mobile phone, while the figure for women is just marginally lower at 71 percent. While the report shows that, as a general rule, users are satisfied with the reliability of a broad spectrum of IT services, a certain amount of criticism is levelled at Internet hook-ups and surfing; 6 percent of women and 4 percent of men think that this service works badly. Larger numbers of users (12-13 percent) are neither particularly pleased nor dissatisfied with their Internet connections and surfing facilities. The survey is based on 1,000 telephone interviews which were carried out in August 2000.
