Nottingham-based e-commerce business Boards Direct is expanding its Sales & Marketing function with the appointment of a client-facing Business Development Manager.

Kate Willett, from Leicestershire, has been appointed to the role after completing a successful trial period with the online retailer. Miss Willett, 37, has a background in business to business sales, in particular in the education and software sectors, a massive advantage for Boards Direct.

The firm, based on Lenton Lane, specialises in supplying whiteboards and noticeboards to businesses and consumers, and produces its exclusive Casca range of high-end magnetic glass noticeboards, which are designed and manufactured in Nottingham.

Miss Willett comments: “I feel lucky to have been introduced to Boards Direct at this exciting time for the business. Not only are we experiencing rapid growth in the UK, but we are expanding overseas as well. The ‘go-ahead’ culture of the company is a perfect match for my skills, which include introducing the company to new customers, and providing solutions for our client base.”

Owner, Paul Pinder, comments: “This marks a real step change for Boards Direct. Until this point we have been a business driven by online marketing, by appointing Kate, we have acknowledged that the next stage of our business will be developed by relationships.”

He continues “We have been impressed by Kate’s professionalism and her sales approach has simultaneously blended with our company and made a positive impact on our revenue.”

Boards Direct counts big names such as Fortnum and Mason, Lloyds and Barclays Bank among its clientele and is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year. In 2014, the company expanded from its Nottingham base to New York City, and continues to grow in overseas markets.
