One of Europe’s leading providers of high-quality veterinary care for companion animals welcomes several well-renowned Belgian veterinary clinics into the AniCura family.

Since its start in the Nordic region in 2011, AniCura has grown to become a leading provider of high-quality and advanced veterinary care across 11 European countries. Today, AniCura enters Belgium with the addition of several high-quality veterinary clinics.

“At AniCura, we work in a value driven organisation to deliver high-quality care to pets, develop attractive workplaces for our people and advance the veterinary profession. We are honoured to serve pets of the more than 2.5 million pet owners in Belgium with the addition of some of the best clinics in Belgium”, says Azita Shariati, Group CEO, AniCura.

During 2019, AniCura welcomed 50 new clinics and 1,000 new employees to the company, primarily from southern Europe and Germany. Today, AniCura employs 6,000 veterinary professionals at more than 300 locations across Europe. Since 2018, AniCura is part of the family-owned group Mars Veterinary Health.

In Belgium, Dierenkliniek Randstad and Dierenartsencentrum Malpertuus were amongst the first clinics to officially join AniCura in 2020. Both clinics are renowned and leading referral clinics in Belgium.

“We decided to join AniCura because we felt that we shared the same values with a strong focus on medical quality and people development. With AniCura, we get a strong partner for the future and can accelerate our development through knowledge sharing with some of the most renowned specialised clinics across Europe”, says Peter Vandekerckhove, European specialist in surgery (Dipl. ECVS) and founder of Dierenartsencentrum Malpertuus.

Kathleen Moons, a former McKinsey consultant who has spent the last 15 years building service businesses and creating strong teams in different companies, has been appointed country manager for AniCura in Belgium.
