New digital service for improved veterinary diagnostics

Report this content

In June, AniCura launches a new digital imaging service for veterinary clinics across Europe. Through a web-based system, clinics have their medical images assessed by board-certified radiologists or neurologists.

The new service is called AniCura Telemedicine and will be offered veterinary clinics across Europe, starting in the Nordic region in June. Several scientific studies have highlighted the importance of specialist competence in imaging to achieve accurate analyses of medical images from for example x-ray, magnetic resonance (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) examinations.

Important for patient safety

- Setting a correct diagnosis is key for choosing treatment method, and in the end, it impacts the medical outcome for a patient. With AniCura Telemedicine, we hope to set a better standard for veterinary imaging across Europe, says Jo Amundstad, responsible for the new service at AniCura.

AniCura Telemedicine is a web based system through which clinics can upload and send medical images for assessment. Within 4-24 hours the clinic receives a full analysis performed by a specialist in radiology or neurology. The specialists that are tied to the service are all European specialists (Diplomates) within imaging or neurology.
