Tierärztliche Spezialisten Hamburg in Germany joins AniCura
AniCura, a European leader in high quality specialised veterinary care for companion animals, acquires Tierärztliche Spezialisten Hamburg. The partnership with AniCura provides Tierärztliche Spezialisten Hamburg with a large European community interested in sharing experiences and knowledge for further development of high quality specialised veterinary care.
Tierärztliche Spezialisten Hamburg was founded by veterinarians Drs. Monika and Jens Linek in 2001. The practice was built upon its specialist expertise in dermatology and ophthalmology, treating more than 11 000 patients annually. In these fields, three out of four patients come as referrals from veterinary clinics and practices in Northern Germany and the Hamburg area.
The purpose built facilities, designed in 2007, are fitted with modern equipment for full examinations of eye and skin disorders and technology for advanced surgery inside and around the eye. The practice has two ophthalmologists, two dermatologists and a cardiologist. Jens Linek, specialised in ophthalmology and microsurgery, performs eye operations such as cataract surgery with intraocular lens implantation, intraocular laser procedures and glaucoma treatments. Monika Linek, board certified veterinarian, Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Dermatology, ECVD, and currently the vice president of the European College, offers, together with her Resident ECVD, top-level knowledge in dermatological investigation and management, including intradermal skin testing and interpretation of histological slides.
