AniCura, one of Europe’s leading providers of high-quality veterinary care for companion animals, acquires Tierarztpraxis Dr. Anja Baronetzky-Mercier in Rhineland-Palatinate. The partnership provides the practice with a vast network of veterinary specialists allowing for continued professional development, knowledge and best practice sharing.

Tierarztpraxis Dr. Anja Baronetzky-Mercier was founded by veterinarian Dr. Anja Baronetzky-Mercier in 1990. The practice currently attends to 24 000 patient visits annually, of which approximately a third are patients referred from veterinary clinics and practices in neighbouring regions. With a high level of expertise in the field of exotic animal medicine the practice’s seven veterinarians attend a large number of birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, rodents and reptiles in addition to dogs and cats. The practice has generous opening hours seven days a week and provides around-the-clock care for hospitalised patients. Stand-by emergency duty is maintained in cooperation with two other practices.

The facilities, comprising 440 square meters, contain equipment for endoscopy and ultrasound as well as incubators and oxygen cages for patients in need of intensive care. Furthermore, there are two operation rooms for soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, an in-house laboratory and wards for hospitalised patients.

─ The future of veterinary medicine lies in cooperation, which is why we decided to become a part of AniCura. As we gain access to a large European network of veterinary professionals, endless opportunities for knowledge sharing, scientific development and further vocational training open up, says Practice Manager Dr. Anja Baronetzky-Mercier.

─ We are pleased to welcome Tierarztpraxis Dr. Anja Baronetzky-Mercier to the AniCura family. Teamwork and knowledge sharing is a key ingredient in developing high quality veterinary care of the future, says Peter Dahlberg, CEO AniCura.
