CLIFF ATKINSON APPOINTED GENERAL MANAGER OF MANDARIN ORIENTAL, SAN FRANCISCO

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced the appointment of Cliff Atkinson as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco. A native of San Francisco, Mr. Atkinson is a veteran hotelier with over 15 years of hospitality industry experience. He rejoins Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group after several years as General Manager at Ian Schrager’s Gramercy Park Hotel in New York, and Ralph Burnet’s Chambers Hotel in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Prior to this, during his seven year career with Mandarin Oriental, Mr. Atkinson held a variety of senior management positions, including Executive Assistant Manager at Mandarin Oriental, New York, Corporate Director of Revenue Management, and Director of Revenue Management at Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco. Commenting on the appointment, Richard Baker, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s Executive Vice President, Northern Region, The Americas said, “We are delighted to welcome Cliff back in his leadership capacity as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco. Cliff has the experience, commitment and passion to build on the hotel’s already outstanding reputation as one of the finest luxury hotels in the city.” Mr. Atkinson graduated from the University of San Francisco with a degree in Business Administration. He received a Masters of Business Administration from the Royal Melbourne Institution of Technology in Melbourne, Australia.
