Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group Promotes Richard Baker to Executive Vice President, Operations Director - The Americas

MANDARIN ORIENTAL HOTEL GROUP PROMOTES RICHARD BAKER TO EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, OPERATIONS DIRECTOR – THE AMERICAS Edouard Ettedgui, Chief Executive of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced the promotion of Richard Baker to Executive Vice President, Operations Director – The Americas, with immediate effect. Mr Baker has been promoted to the role from his previous position as Executive Vice President, Northern Region, The Americas. In his expanded function, Mr Baker will be responsible for the operations of all Mandarin Oriental hotels in The Americas. Mr Baker will also oversee the Residences at Mandarin Oriental projects, and will provide operational input to the Group’s hotels under development in the region. He remains based in the Group’s San Francisco office. Commenting on the appointment, Edouard Ettedgui said: “Richard’s strong leadership capabilities will support our strategy of becoming widely recognised as the best luxury hotel group, by ensuring operational excellence in The Americas as well as contributing to the ongoing growth of the Group in this important region.” Mr Baker joined Mandarin Oriental in May 2006 as General Manager, Corporate and prior to joining the Group, held senior management positions with Rosewood Hotels and Resorts and Four Seasons.
