Anoto Group AB: Anoto functionality delivers speedy decisions to WesBank vehicle finance applicants

Wesbank, a South African vehicle financing company, has adopted a solution developed by Anoto partner Comcorp Solutions to quickly transfer information given by their customers in the field onto the bank’s own computer system. This gives WesBank a definite advantage over its’ competitors as the necessary credit checks can be run quickly making it possible to return a decision back to the client in just a few minutes. The solution is based on Anoto digital paper and pen functionality whereby the customer’s details are noted down on application forms printed on a paper with a special pattern. The document is then sent via Bluetooth to the sales representative’s mobile phone which in turn sends the information via GPRS to the bank’s computer system. Since deployment of the pen WesBank has been able to reduce their processing costs by two thirds per application and cut the reply time to 9 minutes. An additional benefit is that the pen is easy to use and requires very little staff training. At the moment 5000 applications per month are submitted via pen users into WesBank’s computer system but the number is constantly growing. Comcorp has currently deployed 700 pens for WesBank who have contracted for an additional 300.
