Anoto’s business segment for video technology and ASIC development is moved to a new subsidiary, Argus Logic AB. This is done in order to provide a better base for quicker growth and increased profitability.

Placing the video technology and ASIC development in a separate company allows for increased focus on this very successful business within Anoto. A CEO will be recruited to drive the sales and marketing in the new company.

Anoto’s ownership in the Argus Logic AB will be 80% while 20% will be owned by key employees in the new company.

Already existing agreements within the business segment for video technology will remain in Anoto AB.

”Anoto’s video technology business has been very successful and there is a great interest for these products on the market. Against this background it is very important that we create the prerequisites for an increased focus on development and sales of these products. This is best achieved by moving the business to a separate company,” says Anoto’s CEO Anders Norling.

Anoto's product range includes high-quality, cost-effective video codec IP blocks for the MPEG-4, H.263 and H.264 standards. The products are hardware IP blocks for integration in the customer's ASIC. Anoto's ASIC (Argus) is used in camera products, and Anoto's MPEG-4/H.263 video codec IP blocks have been used previously in a number of mobile phone platforms.
