Birmingham law firm Anthony Collins Solicitors, already amongst the largest in the Midlands with an exceptional pedigree in the commercial enterprise and community regeneration sectors, has appointed Jane Trevithick and Chris Plumley, specialists in property and local government practices respectively. These strategic appointments add yet more weight and depth to the firm in these key areas and consolidate its award-winning position, further increasing its presence across the region and nationally. Jane joins Anthony Collins Solicitors as Joint Head of Property. With substantial experience particularly in the property and construction arena, she is a property development lawyer with an extensive background of acting for private sector clients and public bodies on public sector projects; invaluable experience in her new role which has a particular emphasis on developing the firm’s commercial client base. Eager to share her skills with others in the firm, Jane is also developing a series of initiatives to nurture and support junior talent at Anthony Collins Solicitors and raise the outward profile of its real estate team of 25 property lawyers. Jane commented: "I am delighted to join this distinctive firm. Not only is it committed to developing long-term relationships with clients across every sector in which it works but there is also a genuine appetite to identify and maximise individual potential as part of the culture here. “The current climate presents an exciting opportunity for the practice to build on its unique knowledge and technical expertise in the property sector, broadening its offer and working alongside clients as partners in their wider businesses with mutual sharing of insight and intelligence." Chris, Anthony Collins Solicitors’ new Local Government lead, has joined the firm to give more strategic direction to the continued development of its nationally recognised local government and regeneration work. An exceptional all-rounder, with a strong reputation in publicly funded physical regeneration schemes, Chris is highly respected by both clients and colleagues for his excellent work and commitment. Chris has already led the firm’s successful tender to become one of just 5 law firms to advise the East Midlands LawShare Partnership, a collaboration of 48 public bodies. Chris said: "Anthony Collins’ work to support and help transform some of our most vulnerable communities will make this an extremely rewarding role. Our culture and firm-wide service offer dovetail neatly with the functions of local government making it easy for us to work in partnership with these clients. We’re already engaged in some fantastic work which fits in with the Government’s Total Place agenda and across the firm.” Senior Partner, Romaine Thompson, concluded: “Chris and Jane bring undoubted skills and experience in disciplines which complement and align with two of our main sector focuses, commercial enterprise and community regeneration. Their appointments to our senior management team are key steps in our development strategy. These are extremely exciting times and we’re looking forward to harnessing their proven talents and embracing new opportunities.”
