Apex Bike Performance will also be delivering a seminar at the International Cyclefit Symposium (ICS) taking place at the event. The ICS is the world’s premier multidisciplinary symposium for technicians dedicated to bike fitting.

Apex Bike Performance designs and manufactures products that enable cyclists of all levels to improve their performance. The company has created the first system in the world capable of measuring biomechanical power and aerodynamic drag coefficiency simultaneously.

The London Bike Show is the first in a busy programme of regional, national and international cycling events for Apex Bike Performance in 2014, which also includes:

  • The Triathlon Show – February 28-March 2 2014
  • Bike and Tri Show 14 – March 8-9 2014

Apex Bike Performance - Backgrounder

Apex Bike Performance designs and manufactures products that enable cyclists of all levels to improve their performance. The company has created the first system in the world capable of measuring biomechanical power and aerodynamic drag coefficiency simultaneously.

The development team at Apex Bike Performance includes cycling professionals, biomechanical experts, remedial therapists, physiotherapists, strength and conditioning experts, orthopaedic surgeons and world-renowned bike fitting technicians. Together they aim to revolutionise the way cyclists ride and perform, whether it’s the daily commute or a competitive pro tour.

The company’s flagship product is the Apex Bike Fit System. This servo-assisted bike takes the guesswork out of finding the optimum riding position by making micro-adjustments while the cyclist is pedalling. The Apex Bike Fit System allows technicians to measure the rider’s power, cadence and heart rate. Torque analysis to every 1.5 degrees and torque force direction can also be assessed to find the most effective position for every individual rider.  Not only can a comfortable position be found, but the Apex Bike allows fitters to quantify the power produced and efficiency attained to an unparalleled accuracy.

The Apex Functional Movement Analysis (AFMA) provides specialist data to help riders maximise physical performance. Through six exercises, the AFMA determines a cyclist’s biomechanical fingerprint and analyses physical strengths and weaknesses. This, in turn, enables technicians to provide riders with a bespoke training programme to enhance their performance.

Apex Bike Performance systems will be in use by several pro tour and national teams as well as local cycling clubs.
