Northampton Meeting Venue Launches History Evenings

The UK’s number one meeting venue will be enjoying a change of pace once a month as it swaps high-tech conveniences for a journey back in time from April of this year. Highgate House, a Sundial Group property and award winning Northamptonshire meeting venue, is going back to its roots with its inaugural ‘Local History Symposium’.

Hosted by a local historian, Sundial Group have created the new history evening events for those who wish to learn more about Northamptonshire, key figures, buildings and events. It’s also a perfect chance for those who want to hark back to their own childhood or relive favourite memories. For those who have wandered past landmarks and not known their significance or always wondered about the history of certain buildings, the Sundial History Symposiums are set to be an informative and fun way to spend an evening with like minded neighbours. In addition to the historical presentation, guests for the evening will also be able to enjoy a delicious three course meal, prepared with fresh local produce and served by a brigade of award-winning chefs at Highgate House. Although it enjoys a reputation as the UK’s leading meeting venue (source: BDRC Continental's "VenueVerdict" Survey 2010), there is more to Highgate House than Northamptonshire meeting rooms, world class technology and modern accommodation. Purchased by the Sundial Group matriarch, Diana Chudley in the 1960s, the sprawling country house and acres of lush gardens were transformed from run down residence to beautiful country house and guest house. The post-war entrepreneur then gave the elegant 17th century building a second lease of life, carefully converting it into a cutting edge conference and meeting venue, all whilst retaining its beautiful old fashioned charm. The first Sundial Group History Symposium will take place on the 28 April at 19.00. Pre-booking is advisable and discounts are available for multiple sessions. The topic of the first evening is ‘Boughton House’.
