West Midlands Pallet Truck Firm Completes Expansion Project
A West Midlands firm specialising in pallet trucks has successfully completed a significant expansion project. Bucking the credit crunch trend, Midland Pallet Trucks has created a number of new local jobs and purchased extra warehouse facilities adjacent to its current premises in Kingswinford.
Having been based in the area since 1984, Midland Pallet Trucks has been a local employer for more than twenty five years. It has recently created four new positions, adding to its growing team of local workers. Three of the four roles were created in the company’s warehouse facility, working with the firm’s pallet and pump trucks and preparing them for dispatch to customers around the country. The fourth role, based in the office itself, is also a new position created to assist existing employees with the firm’s growing workload. Phil Chesworth from parent company, Midland Bearings Ltd said, “We are extremely pleased to have finished this latest stage of expansion and delighted with the way Midland Pallet Trucks continues to develop. It is an increasingly important part of the Midland Bearings Group, which also includes Midland Bearings and Midland Scales, both of which are also thriving and based in the West Midlands.” In addition to the recruitment drive and creation of new local jobs, the pallet truck supplier has expanded its physical presence, with the successful acquisition of extra premises. The increased space has been earmarked for secure storage of larger stocks of pallet trucks and other mechanical handling equipment. The additional space gives the firm a total of five bays and 50,000 sq feet. The new warehouse capacity means Midland Pallet Trucks can import and store enough pump trucks and lift tables at its premises to supply the whole of the UK market. This growth phase sees the firm becoming one of the largest materials handling firms in the country.
