A public relations consultancy has opened up its doors to 20 students as part of Work Inspiration Week, an initiative organised by the E3 Bradford programme.

Ilkley’s multi-award winning Approach PR took part in the scheme to inform and inspire students aged between 14 to18, who were interested in finding out more about the career paths available to them.

Students from Grange Technology College and Bradford College visited the five-strong team throughout Work Inspiration Week (27 April to 1 May 2015) for interactive sessions about the public relations industry, employability skills and the benefits of being a small business.

Verity Clarke, account director at Approach PR, which has previously been named Yorkshire’s Graduate Employer of the Year, said: “Approach has always been passionate about working with students and graduates. Taking part in Work Inspiration Week has been a great way for us to interact with Bradford’s young talent, encouraging them to take advantage of the vast number of opportunities available to them as they begin considering their future careers.”

Work Inspiration Week is in its third year and is one of many employability-themed initiatives organised by E3 Bradford, which works with businesses, education providers, Bradford Chamber and Bradford Council to fuel ambition and skills in students across the region.

Paul Mackie, chairman of Rex Procter and Partners and president of Bradford Chamber of Commerce, said: “E3 Bradford’s ongoing mission is to embed enterprise into the curriculum of our schools. Work Inspiration Week has been an excellent way of connecting our region’s school and college students with the many businesses which cover a wide range of industries from public relations to manufacturing. We appreciate Approach PR’s continued support of E3 Bradford in raising the ambition and employability skills of the next generation.”

Approach PR is continuing to share its industry and business skills with the launch of new dates for its Approachability training arm, offering businesses the chance to learn and develop skills in public relations, media relations, social media and blogging. The courses are running throughout June and are priced from £65.
