New York, NY -- January 12, 2011 -- Appular announces Push Panic for iPhone and iPod touch, normally priced at $1.99, is free, today only, at AppEvent.com and on the iTunes App Store. Push Panic, recently rated a Top 25 App of 2010 by Metacritic, is an exhilarating color-matching puzzler that includes four action-packed gameplay modes focused on the creation of explosive color-coded combos. AppEvent, based in the Netherlands, is geared towards bringing a variety of apps created by Dutch and Belgian developers into the spotlight by allowing iPhone and iPad users to download them for free.

Push Panic includes four electrifying game modes: Classic, Score, Color, and Time Panic.

  • Classic Panic consists of 50 levels of gameplay. Advance in rank by completing objectives and earning gold, silver, or bronze medals for each level.
  • Time Panic challenges players to push for the highest score attainable in 180 seconds.
  • Color Panic’s objective is to have no more than eight of the same-colored blocks on the screen at once.
  • Score Panic shares the same objective as Time Panic, but provides endless gameplay to reach the highest possible score.

“This is a great opportunity, having Push Panic featured on AppEvent,” says Barry Kostjens, developer of Push Panic. “I previously worked with them briefly on an iGangster feature and it garnered a great response from the audience. AppEvent enables us to reach out to a larger audience, so when they asked to feature Push Panic this month, I jumped at the chance to work with them again.”

Push Panic is normally available for $1.99, but is free today on the iTunes App Store at:

About Barry Kostjens and Ricardo de Zoete:
Barry Kostjens is an independent developer for iOS apps from the Netherlands. Prior to developing Push Panic, Barry developed iGangster, his first game for the iPhone platform, which was also featured by Apple. The success of iGangster seeded Barry’s dedication to learning more about Objective-C and coding, paving the way for the birth of Push Panic. In desperate need of a sophisticated graphics designer for Push Panic, Barry began searching on iPhone forums, where he found Ricardo de Zoete, who had the skills and knowledge in GFX to render the stunning graphics of Push Panic. Though the duo never met in person, they have joined together in a dynamic team to develop quality apps that paves the way for further creative innovations.
