Golf and lodging packages at Lake Powell add to the activity offerings at America's favorite houseboat destination

PAGE, Ariz. One of the real pleasures of being a golfer is that the sport “travels well.” That is to say golfers can fuel their passion for the sport just about anywhere -- be it on vacation, a business trip, a last-second weekend getaway or stopping on a whim while driving through a town.

There is no better proof of that than at the par-72 Lake Powell National Golf Course, masterfully laid out on a plateau overlooking one of America’s premier water recreation locales, spectacular Lake Powell in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area in northeastern Arizona.

The challenging 7,064-yard (back tees), 18-hole layout was opened in 1995 by the city of Page and in 2012 became part of the expansive recreational menu of fun offered by ARAMARK Parks and Destinations, which also operates lodging, dining and water craft rentals on the picturesque lake.

That new affiliation means golfers-boaters can fulfill their recreational appetites by including a round of golf to their boating outing. Strategic scheduling of a tee time can find visitors enjoying an early-morning round of golf and a half-day boating excursion on the lake or vice versa.

To celebrate the addition of the Lake Powell National Golf Course to ARAMARK’s portfolio, an off-season golfing-lodging package starting a $150 p/p, double occupancy is available through March 31. The package includes a night’s lodging at Lake Powell Resorts on the shores of the lake and a round of golf for two, including cart, on the near-by golf course.  The regular green fees are $49 for 18 holes and $19 for 9 holes.
