May 2, 2012, Maynard, MA – Virtual High School Global Consortium (http://www.TheVHSCollaborative.org), the nonprofit pioneer of K-12 online learning, today unveiled a new brand identity designed to reflect the organization’s longevity and leadership in the K-12 online learning market, continued focus on empowering middle and high schools to create effective 21st century learning experiences, and their expanded services for schools and students.

“Since our founding 15 years ago we have grown from providing a few online courses to a handful of schools to being a global online learning provider who is setting the standard for 21st century education,” said Liz Pape, President & CEO of VHS. “It came time for us to have a brand that reflected our expertise and our passion for helping teachers and schools deliver quality online learning experiences that inspire, ignite, and deepen learning. After months of research and preparation, we are pleased to release our new name and look, and launch our new website.”

The new VHS brand consists of a new name, logo and website, all of which convey particular brand attributes of the company and its services. On the organization’s new website, for the first time, visitors can get a glimpse into the world of VHS, including what it’s like to take or teach a VHS course. In addition, visitors will benefit from 21st century teaching resources and much more.

As a nonprofit collaborative of schools, VHS’ mission is to provide students with access to high quality online learning experiences and courses not offered at their school, while supporting educators with the professional development and services they need to provide an effective 21st century education to every student. VHS member schools have access to a range of collaborative core, elective, enrichment and AP® courses that inspire, ignite and deepen learning as well as enable students to develop digital literacies and independent learning skills, explore college majors and careers, try interesting electives, earn credits, participate in global classrooms and get the opportunity to take advanced courses not offered at their school. Courses are taught by active classroom teachers who are specially trained in online teaching best practices, highly qualified, and certified in their subject areas.
