Three-month report 2000 * Artimplant's Board of Directors pursued a directed issue of 1,000,000 B shares at a price of SEK 143 per share. The main part of the issue was subscribed by international institutional investors. During the month of April the company received proceeds prior to issue related costs amounting to SEK 143 million which increased the equity from SEK 8.86 per share as per last March 2000 to SEK 22.50 in April 2000. * In the first multicenter study 200 patients with damaged anterior crutiate ligament (ACL) in the knee have been operated. * Due to the positive observations from the clinical studies regarding ACL and hand surgery the certification process for ligament products has been intensified and applications could be filed during the third?/fourth quarter 2000. This change of priority has delayed the development work of bone fracture implants several months. * Artimplant is adapting its production unit of ligament products to full scale and the company expects to complete the work during the second half of 2000. * Artimplant has recruited Michael Nordh from the AstraZeneca Group as a Sales and Marketing Director with responsibility for the global market organization. * Within the cooperation with both Mölnlycke Health Care and Genzyme Tissue Repair materials have been identified and will continue to be tested. * During the first quarter year 2000 Artimplant received a patent approval in Sweden for te construction of ligament implants. * During year 2000 Artimplant is entering a market phase and plans to recruit to several key positions. The company plans to conclude the recruitment of a Sales and Marketing Director in the near future. * Revenues for the group amounted to 6.1 MSEK (4.7 MSEK). The operating result amounted to -4.5 MSEK (-2.2 MSEK). Result after financial items amounted to -4.2 MSEK (-2.0 MSEK).
