Artimplant applies for its own bankruptcy

The Board of Directors and the CEO of Artimplant AB (publ) have decided to apply for its own bankruptcy. The reasons behind the insolvency and the liquidity problems are related to the ongoing litigations in the USA, where Artimplant has been sued by approx. 50 patients who claims they have been injured by the CMC Spacer, and the ongoing Arbitration in Sweden, which has been initiated by Artimplant to determine which insurance company or insurance broker are responsible for each claim related to the litigations in the USA. Artimplant postpones Annual General Meeting and Interim Report

The Board has decided to put back the Annual General Meeting and the first Interim Report for 2013 from May 7 to May 30, 2013. The decision is related to the ongoing company evaluation work by the Board regarding the structure of the company and ways to finance the company into a profitable and competitive business of the future. The Board of Directors has decided to postpone the publication of Artimplant's Year-End Report until February 27, 2013. The original publication date was February 1, 2013.The reason for the change is the ongoing complaints in the USA and the related insurance situation. Artimplant strenghtens its market position

Artimplant has entered into an agreement with its licensee, Biomet Sports Medicine, Inc., to assume total responsibility for sales of ATR products.Biomet has held the license rights for our Artelon® Tissue Reinforcement (ATR) products since 2005. Artimplant takes over sales in the Nordic countries

Artimplant continues to strengthen its market position. Since the beginning of 2012, Artimplant has taken over the sales of their products on the Nordic market.The former distributor, NMS, has filed for bankruptcy, enabling Artimplant to quickly take over the direct sales. Artimplant invests in expanded own sales

Kjell Thörnbring has been appointed to the new CEO of Artimplant AB. He has been acting CEO since May 4 and he has at the same time maintained the position of CFO.
