Hosted Platform Integrates Aspera’s fasp™ Transport for Secure, High-speed Transfer of Legal Electronically Stored Information (ESI)

EMERYVILLE, Calif. January 21, 2013 — Aspera, Inc., creators of next-generation software technologies that move the world’s large data at maximum speed, and Aquipt, a technology services provider for law firms and litigation support teams, today announced that Aspera software is now used to securely transfer legal data to and from Aquipt’s hosted case management platform, MatterPoint.

MatterPoint eliminates the need for clients to purchase and maintain expensive infrastructure for the collection, processing and management of legal ESI, instead providing them with a pay-as-you-go solution that is suited to the highly transactional nature of eDiscovery.

To enable MatterPoint with the fastest, most secure and reliable way of transferring sensitive legal data to and from client sites globally, Aquipt selected Aspera, deploying the Aspera Connect Server at their data center and adopting the Aspera Console application for real-time monitoring, notifications, logging and reporting.

Beyond performance, security and reliability, Aspera delivers ease of use to Aquipt’s customers with an intuitive web-based interface and a self-installing browser plug-inAspera Connect – that allows users to transfer data of any size from anywhere in the world without requiring complicated software installations. Once uploaded to Aquipt’s MatterPoint platform, customers can perform search and analysis on their legal data and extract the results back to their in-house systems, once again using high-speed fasp transport technology.

Aspera also makes life easy for Aquipt’s administrators who were able to quickly and seamlessly shift file transfer operations to Aspera. “It’s not a big, complex, drawn-out project to get Aspera up and running,” said Richard Wein, Aquipt’s CEO.

Regardless of location or network conditions, Aspera technology achieves maximum transfer speeds to and from the MatterPoint platform. “With Aspera, we can now transfer 20 gigabytes per hour from west coast to east coast using our dedicated 45 Mbps pipe,” said Wein. “This allows us to accept production cases with tight deadlines that were not achievable with other technologies.”

“Hosted solutions like MatterPoint deliver unprecedented cost savings and efficiencies to their users,” said Michelle Munson, CEO of Aspera, Inc. “Aspera fasp-powered high-speed and secure transfers enable these applications to ingest and distribute data sets of virtually unlimited sizes to users located anywhere in the world, and scale throughput as their demand increases, making them indispensible tools for big-data use cases like eDiscovery.”
