WASHINGTON, D.C.—May 13, 2013 Aspera, Inc., creators of next-generation software technologies that move the world’s data at maximum speed, has announced that president, CEO and co-founder Michelle Munson will present at FOSE, an event for government technology professionals, taking place on May 14-16 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

At 10.15am on Wednesday May 15, Munson will co-present on ‘New Big Data Capabilities Create New Workflows and Unlock the Power of the Cloud’ alongside Mike Wood, executive director of the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board (RATB). The session will show how the latest high-speed big data transport technology— accredited for SIPRNET and JWICS, and FIPS 140-2 compliant—securely transports big data of any file size, at any distance, even over the most difficult military networks, with the highest degree of security. Supporting all data, infrastructure and storage types, regardless of location, this new open core transport technology enables the cloud for faster, more efficient collection, archiving, collaboration and exchange of large file data.

At 3.15pm the same day, Munson will present on ‘Bridging On-Premise and Cloud Infrastructure Deployments to Support Big Data’. As agencies turn to cloud-based services to store, manage and access big data, it has become clear that the cloud’s promises of virtually unlimited, on-demand increases in storage, compute, and bandwidth are tempered by a series of technical bottlenecks.  The session will address how organizations can overcome challenges including transfer performance over the WAN, HTTP throughput within remote infrastructures and size limitations of cloud object stores, as well as securely and efficiently designing infrastructures that integrate their existing systems with the cloud.

The session will also explore how infrastructure-agnostic transport technologies are transforming they way organizations can design their IT deployments to access and use big data for ever-greater efficiencies and innovation.

At booth 743 Aspera will showcase the latest versions of its high-speed file transfer software, and preview new solutions including:

Aspera Drive - Aspera will preview high-speed synchronization from desktop to cloud with Aspera Drive. Completely integrated with the Aspera high-speed transfer platform, Aspera Drive offers integrated desktop and mobile browsing of remote files, drag-and-drop high-speed upload and download from cloud storage, background file synchronization, and sending and receiving of extremely large files and data sets at global distances for the ultimate secure file distribution experience.

faspex 4.0 – Aspera will preview faspex 4.0, a file sharing and package sending web application tier which powers the Aspera Drive file-sharing ecosystem. A new project-based approach combines users and user groups with file and directory resources (“Shares”) into project collaboration spaces.

Beta versions of Aspera Drive and faspex 4.0 are expected to be available in Summer 2013.
