EMERYVILLE, Calif., 11 October 2012Aspera co-founder and president Michelle Munson will take part in a live discussion on big data challenges at Structure:Europe on Wednesday 17 October. The two-day conference, held on 16-17 October, brings together executives and innovators from across the tech landscape to make news, spark discussion and deliver high-end networking opportunities. The focus this year is the future of cloud computing in Europe.

Organisations today must implement large scale computing and networking infrastructure, select storage systems and integrate high-speed transport technologies to enable the global collection, distribution and sharing of enormous amounts of data. At the same time, new technologies for the movement and storage of big data are enabling increased collaboration over greater distances, much more efficiently and cost effectively than ever before. The storage of big data in the cloud drives economies of scale and fundamentally changes the parameters of data centre design.

Munson, a pioneer in high-speed data transport technology, will discuss why the technology industry needs to rethink how to integrate technologies for big data processing, management and analytics with transfer, storage and repository solutions. Munson will be joined by John Roese, SVP and GM of Futurwei, Huawei and the session will be moderated by George Gilbert, principal, TechAlpha Partners and analyst, GigaOM Pro.

Aspera experts will be running a workshop on Tuesday 16 October at Structure:Europe on enabling the big data cloud with high-speed data transfer. Through real-world examples, attendees will learn how Aspera, now the gold standard for high-speed data transport whether on premise or through the cloud, supports best practices for high-speed data access in private, public and hybrid cloud environments.

Aspera will also be providing conference attendees with full demonstrations across their product portfolio, including cloud-enabled high-speed transfer solutions that allow organisations to leverage the inherent advantages of cloud computing for sharing large volumes of data.
