Anticipating the release of the new line of Windows 7 phones, Rubberduck Media Lab, a subsidiary of Aspiro AB and Europe’s leading provider of streaming mobile TV services has developed an application supporting the new operating system. The first delivery will be shipped by early November.

The Application is built upon the company’s extensive cloud based encoding and streaming solution, allowing operators, broadcasters and content providers to deliver On Demand and Live TV directly to their customers. The Windows 7 application is already completed and a first deployment agreement has been reached with a major customer ahead of launch.

Windows 7 will be an excellent platform for TV and video. We are sure it will help grow the market for mobile TV and create more business for our customers. We are happy to announce that we have already finished development and signed the first customer, ready for launch when the handsets hit the market in Europe and elsewhere,” says Erling Paulsen, Managing Director of Rubberduck Media Lab.

Rubberduck Media Lab believes large touch screens, easy navigation driven by the new Windows Phone 7 Metro-interface and powerful hardware from a wide range of manufacturers is a winning formula for mobile TV.

Microsoft previously announced that Windows Mobile 7 handsets from device makers such as Samsung, HTC and LG will be available with more than 60 mobile operators in over 30 countries worldwide, including América Móvil, AT&T, Deutsche Telekom AG, Movistar, O2, Orange, SFR, SingTel, Telstra, TELUS, T-Mobile USA and Vodafone.

The application was created with expert assistance from Microsoft and in cooperation with the first customer who commissioned the app.
