Aspiro and Agence France Presse (AFP) bring Olympic news to the mobile phone. Prior to the Summer Olympics in Australia this September, Aspiro will be working with Agence France-Presse (AFP) on the launch of a special news service targeted at operators and mobile portals that will allow subscribers to receive the very latest Olympic sports news and results directly in their mobile phone. AFP, one of the world's top three news agencies, will have a big staff of journalists present in Sydney this September to cover every event of the millennium's first Summer Olympic Games. All their reports, stories and results will be accessible 24-hours a day by mobile phone via Aspiro's Olympic Games news application. The service, which will present all information in three languages - English French and Spanish - will be accessible to all mobile phones and devices. The Olympic Games news service will be sold to operators, portals owners and other interested parties from the beginning of July. Reports from the Olympic games will start sending sometime in the beginning of September. The application is expected to deliver some 200,000 Euros in revenues to Aspiro this year. "Aspiro is delighted to be able to deliver Olympic news through the mobile medium. Sports news is one of the most time-critical news there is. For many sports fans this is certain to be a much appreciated service as it will let them stay continually in touch with everything that's happening wherever they may be and whatever time zone they will find themselves in," says Magnus Liljegren, Content Aggregation, Aspiro.
