Kipling – a company supplying products and consulting services in telecoms – and Aspiro – a world leading company in Mobile Internet – announce the signing of an agreement on a strategic joint venture on sales. This represents a second step in the collaboration which began with a purchase by Aspiro of Trinity WAP Gateway, the platform-independent system from Kipling.

The purpose of the agreement is to be able to offer mobile providers and content providers a well-rounded portfolio of services and products for mobile Internet. “Through this joint venture we can together offer mobile providers “one-stop shopping” in mobile Internet solutions”, says Gustaf Ekberg, Managing Director, Kipling. “Our collaboration with Aspiro neatly complements Kipling’s collaboration with Hewlett-Packard and that company’s Mobile E-services Bazaar. Kipling’s strength in technological platforms combined with Aspiro’s strong service offering in mobile Internet, and HP’s infrastructure, offer customers a wider range of possibilities for quickly finding what they are looking for from one and the same supplier”. The portfolio spans the current range of services and products from Kipling and Aspiro. To mobile providers, Kipling offers development of specific services, as well as platforms such as Trinity WAP Gateway. Aspiro’s contribution is a range of services and the VAS interface. Content providers can avail themselves of Kipling’s business consulting services. Aspiro will act as a reseller of content while Kipling will be responsible for integration with the customer’s existing system. Aspiro’s applications and services comprise a broad range of innovative and industry-specifc products for mobile providers, content providers and mobile organizations. “Kipling and Aspiro have many common points of references and are working to the same goal. Kipling’s telecoms expertise and its system solutions in mobile communication offer an excellent complement to Aspiro’s products for wireless communication between mobile units and the Internet”, says Patrik Nilsson, business area manager, Aspiro Mobile Portal Solutions. “Apart from enabling us now to offer our customers entirely new types of total solutions, the agreement gives Kipling access to Aspiro’s international networks and through them further ways of reaching out with its services”.
