Aspiro and Wysdom work collaboratively on SMS Traffic in North America and Europe Aspiro and Wysdom, both suppliers of mobile Internet services and administrators of SMS traffic, have signed an agreement covering the delivery of SMS traffic within Europe and North America. The agreement enables Aspiro to deliver SMS traffic to the North American market and Wysdom to deliver SMS traffic to the European market. Aspiro has signed an agreement regarding SMS traffic with Wysdom Inc., a wireless software and infrastructure company. The agreement will enable Wysdom customers to reach the more than 200 GSM carriers in Aspiro's international SMS network. Aspiro's customers will now be able to reach mobile devices in GSM networks, as well as those in TDMA, CDMA and paging networks in North America. As a result, it is estimated that Aspiro's International network connectivity will be increased by 100 additional carriers, reinforcing the company's status as a premier global- and technology-independent SMS network. The agreement is mutually beneficial, non-exclusive and runs with a minimum term of six months. During 2000, 24 billion SMS-messages were sent on the European market, while an estimated 2 billion were sent on the North American market. "There are currently more than 100 Million wireless users in the North American market," says Lena Wittbjer, CEO of Aspiro. "Sending SMS messages in North America is still in its infancy compared with the volumes sent in Europe today, but the SMS trend looks very encouraging and adoption rates can grow quickly." " Aspiro is an excellent partner for us in the European market as they are the largest independent supplier of SMS traffic in Scandinavia and have an extensive European network " says Glen Schmid, Vice-President at Wysdom. "This agreement is mutually beneficial for our companies. I see Wysdom as a great partner because, like Aspiro, they have been around since the infancy of the mobile communication industry." says Anders Bengtsson, Director of Product & Business Strategy at Aspiro.
