Aspiro introduces shift at the top appointing new CEO Aspiro today announces that Lena Wittbjer replaces Jörgen Adolfsson as Chief Executive Officer of Aspiro AB. The shift takes place with immediate effect. The decision is made on basis of a dynamic international growth strategy paired with a true global focus. With the market for mobile services expected to boom globally and the signing up of Aspiro's first non-Scandinavian customer, the recent world-wide reseller and distribution agreement with telecom giant Nokia and the new co-operation agreement with Japanese Cybird, the Aspiro Board of Directors have together with the company's three Founders agreed to install Lena Wittbjer in the position of CEO of Aspiro AB and thereby the Aspiro Group of companies. She replaces Founder Jörgen Adolfsson who will head up the US company, Aspiro Inc. Wittbjer, who joined Aspiro in January 2000, was up till now CEO of Aspiro International S.A., the international strategy and sales arm based in Luxembourg. She also held the position of Chief Sales Officer in the Aspiro Group. Bruno Pagliuca, a Belgian national, will replace Lena as President of the multicultural Luxembourg office and assume the CSO role. "Wittbjer will ensure that we keep our international focus and further develop Aspiro's strong brand on the global arena" says Tomas Althén, Chairman of the Aspiro Board. "Wittbjer is a well known industry person with an extensive network and solid track record. She has done a tremendous job in putting together an experienced multicultural sales force and has shared her global visions and enthusiasm with the rest of the company, the market and investors in a very strong and convincing manner". "I look forward to the challenge" says Wittbjer. "My focus will be on our growth through sales and partner agreements on international markets where a world-class company like Aspiro belongs. Our recent global reseller agreement with Nokia and co-operation agreement with Japanese Cybird are two projects that I will give special attention in gearing up the company to a strong international position. Sales is where my heart is. There is no such thing as a healthy company without solid sales results. With the expertise we have on the technical side and the opportunities in the markets, it is my intention to position us as the international supplier of mobile internet services, regardless of whether it is using today's technology or that of the future. It is the end user, her behaviour and her requirements on content which is important to us and it is this knowledge put into action that has lead to our strong position today, which we intend to strengthen even further." Jörgen Adolfsson, co-founder and new CEO of Aspiro Inc. adds, "To lead the company into and through this international phase requires a lot of know-how and expertise. We are convinced that Wittbjer is the best person suited for that job". On his own new position he says "The US is a mature Internet market but an immature mobile internet market. It is our aim to marry our expertise and European and Japanese experiences with the North and South American mobile operators and portals who would like to benefit from the Scandinavian services and success stories."
